BBC Documentaries as Torrents

NewNova.org has a huge listing of fresh documentaries. This is like finding bittorrent gold :-) Not that any of you good people would download an illegal BBC documentary of course... You'd buy a television, an then buy an ariel and a freeview box, and then pay a licence fee, which is used for god knows what. You wouldn't use the internet to get hold of something your tax money payed for...

UPDATE: May 2007, newnova is no more, however there is now a huge array of downloadable BBC and Channel4 documentaries available on Google Video.

If that doesn't suit you Torrentz.com list over 600 files for the phrase 'BBC Documentary'.

hey i like this article especially the grin lol.
can i just say that i beleive it is not illegal to download tv torrents. just think about it for a second, you dont get in trouble if you record say the simpsons on your vcr or vdr(digital recorder) or dvd recorder, so why is downloading it any different. and as matey said you pay for all this eqiupment and a questionable licence???
how is d/l-ing tv shows against the law???

I am British but spending a year in Thailand, Visiting a friends apartment in View Talay 6 Pattaya, the local TV Sophon is not great for Westerns it is terrible, quite often the movies is shown from a VCD disc and half way through the film stops and the screen shows please insert disc 2, the problem is having to sit and wait for the 30 minutes it takes the tv assisant to change the disc.

My friend started to down load torrents of BBC programs that are watched on the BBC but not possible to get in Thailand, i understand that this is in breach of some law, but it doesent make sense. The local TV provider shows copied VCD movies but British citizens are not surposied to down load a torrent from home.

Well to the pepople in the View Talay 6 Pattaya, i hope that the torrents flow.
